AU Optronics, Six Execs Indicted For Price Fixing In LCD Panels

AU Optronics (AUO), a Taiwan-based producer of LCD panels, has been indicted by the Justice Department for allegedly participating in a price fixing scheme, Dow Jones Newswires reports. Also indicted were the company’s U.S. subsidiary and six of the company’s executives.

The government contends the company was involved in price-fixing in the LCD sector from 2001 to 2006, affecting some of the world’s largest PC and TV companies, including Apple, Dell and Hewlett-Packard.

The federal probe of the LCD market previously results in six guilty pleas to pricing fixing allegations, and the payment of more than $860 million in fines.
