In early December, Morgan Stanley announced key leadership appointments effective January 1, 2010, when James P. Gorman becomes CEO and president and John J. Mack steps down as CEO while continuing to serve as chairman.
Colm Kelleher, previously CFO and head of global capital markets, and Paul J. Taubman, previously global head of investment banking, will serve as co-presidents of institutional securities.
Ruth Porat, who earlier was global head of the financial institutions group, becomes CFO.
Thomas Nides remains chief administrative officer and assumes the role of chief operating officer.
Jim Rosenthal will serve as COO of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and head of corporate strategy for Morgan Stanley.
Charles Johnston continues in his role as president of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
In its latest quarterly results, Morgan Stanley says it includes 18,160 global representatives in 930 locations, including advisors with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
