U.S. Digital Music Sales Stall

Digital music sales in the U.S. have stalled out, with flat sales in the first half versus a year ago, according to Nielsen, as reported by Reuters. That follows gains of 13% in 2009 and 28% in 2008.

Nielsen said the slowdown could reflect weak consumer confidence the, a weak slate of new music and confusion related to the may ways people can buy music on the Web.

In other countries, sales continues to grow, with growth for the period of 7% in Britain, 13% in Germany and 19% in France.

Maybe everyone is listening to Pandora.
