Move Shares Rise on Q4 Results (MOVE)

Move Inc. (NASDAQ: MOVE) shares have risen sharply in trading today after the Westlake Village, California-based company announced its fourth-quarter financial results.�

Move shares rose to an intra-day high of $9.37 in trading today. At last check, the stock was trading 13.19% higher at $8.58 on above average volume of 1.69 million.�

Move, which operates an online network of Websites for real estate search, finance, moving and home enthusiasts, reported fourth-quarter revenue of $47.3 million, compared with $48.9 million reported for the same period in the previous year.�

The company�s net income for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 was $3.4 million, or $0.09 per share, compared with $409,000, or $0.01 per share reported for the same period in the previous year.�

Move�s Realtor.com maintained its leading market position in 2011 as the most trusted name in online real estate. The website�s users spent more than 2.8 billion minutes on its network and viewed nearly 6 billion total pages, which is more than 2.5 times the nearest competitor.�

Back in November 2011, Realtor.com also went global, thus becoming the first U.S. real estate site to provide multiple languages and conversions for currencies and measurements as well as search capabilities outside the U.S. The website now provides listings for more than 13 countries, including Spain, France and Italy.�

Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Move, said that the company closed 2011 with strength by rolling out several new revenue-generating products developed to connect customers and consumers, stabilizing its core Realtor.com revenue stream, and laying the groundwork to grow revenue in 2012. Berkowitz also said that the industry is still experiencing considerable change, as marketing dollars continue shifting online and consumers embrace new technologies that are transforming real estate search. He added that in 2012, the company plans to use its core assets and market leadership to drive the successful delivery of revenue solutions that surround the entire move-cycle.�
