Market Performance on Job Report Fridays


Prior to this week, the ADP Employment report was stronger than expected for three straight months, and for three straight months the non-farm payrolls report for the corresponding month was weaker than expected. With three straight months of being suckered, investors and economists don't have much faith that this week’s positive ADP report and other positive employment data (see below) will translate into an upside surprise for tomorrow’s non-farm payrolls (NFP) report. However, now that most people are brushing aside the stronger data, will this be the month that ADP is not a false alarm?
