Chip maker Broadcom (BRCM) this afternoon reported Q4 revenue and profit per share ahead of analysts’ expectations.
Revenue in the three months ended in December rose to $1.82 billion, yielding EPS of 68 cents. Analysts on average had been expecting $1.8 billion and 65 cents a share.
Shares of Broadcom are up 91 cents, almost 3%, at $35.25 in late trading.
In a separate release, the company announced it raised its dividend to 10 cents a share from a prior 9 cents per share. The dividend is payable on March 5th to shareholders of record as of February 17th.

Update: The company projected Q1 revenue of $1.7 billion to $1.8 billion, which is ahead of the average $1.73 billion estimate, with a gross profit margin of 50.6%, roughly flat with last quarter’s level.
